Data Quality & Limitations
Data Accuracy
We make every effort to ensure data accuracy by sourcing directly from official publications and public disclosures. However, we recommend verifying critical information against primary sources or directly with iwi organisations.
Historical Data
Some historical records may be incomplete where source data was not available or was published in formats that could not be reliably extracted. Treaty settlement information may be limited for older settlements.
Update Timing
There may be a delay between official publication of new data and its appearance on this platform. We aim to update data within a reasonable timeframe of new releases.
Independence Statement
IwiData NZ operates independently. Our platform is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to any iwi organisation, government agency, or post-settlement governance entity.
We do not receive funding from any iwi or government agency for our work. Our goal is to provide transparent, accessible information to support understanding of iwi governance in New Zealand.
API Access
We are exploring options for providing programmatic access to our aggregated data. If you are interested in API access for research or journalism purposes, please contact us.
